JONAS BLUE is one of the biggest electronic music crossover artists in the world currently with 17 billion streams, and 7 singles that are platinum and multi-platinum in the UK.
His debut album ‘Blue’ is certified gold in the UK and was winner of Brit Certified Breakthrough Award and nominated for 5 Brit Awards.
Jonas is no doubt a certified pop powerhouse. His most notable hits include his modernised take on Tracey Chapman 1988 hit, ‘Fast Car’, and ‘Perfect Strangers’ – two tracks that have each amassed over one billion streams. Other hit tracks include ‘Mama,’ ‘Rise’ and ‘Alien’ featuring Sabrina Carpenter, and ‘Back & Forth’ with MK and Becky Hill. He’s also recently remixed tracks for Ariana Grande and Gregory Porter.
The dance pop sensation is back with another sure fire hit, ‘100 Lives’ featuring Dutch born, London based singer and songwriter, Eyelar which is out now. Jonas told us:
“‘100 Lives’ started out as a piano instrumental I’d created randomly after watching the Robbie Williams documentary and feeling inspired by that big piano pop sound. Fast forward to a month or so later and I pulled up the instrumental in the studio with Eyelar and (songwriter/producer) Ollie Green and the lyrics and story just started to flow.
It’s very much about finding your soul mate, someone who you’d be there for no matter what, going through the ups and downs of life together. It’s a bit of a follow-up to my song ‘By Your Side’, if you listen to the story in the lyrics.”
‘100 Lives’ features the silky vocals of Dutch pop singer-songwriter, Eyelar. One of dance’s hottest vocal talents, Eyelar made her name initially collaborating with Dutch Electronic producers Afrojack and Nicky Romero. She then moved to London, and began making a name for herself there collaborating on key songwriting and vocal feature credits including RAYE, Charli XCX, Danny L Harle, Disciples, Swedish House Mafia and David Guetta.
Her collaboration as a songwriter and featured vocalist with Purple Disco Machine on the German No1 Airplay Hit ‘Dopamine’ and also on ‘Shutters’ with Fred Again on the Grammy-winning ‘Actual Life 3’ album further enhanced her growing reputation as one of the most sought after collaborators in electronic music with over 1 Billion streams across her songwriting and feature vocalist credits.
We caught up with Jonas this week and ahead of his forthcoming show at KOKO in London this November, he has recorded a very special mix featuring ‘100 Lives’ for The Night Bazaar Sessions on Mixcloud which you can listen to below. Jonas says:
