GERMAN electronic music duo Tube & Berger started out as a punk band and achieved their first international breakthrough back in 2004 with Straight Ahead featuring the vocals of Chrissie Hynde from the Pretenders.
The Kitball Records heads have since gone from strength to strength, bringing their unmistakable rawness and flair to dance floors across the world and into a variety of tastemaker DJ’s sets with a steady flow of hits. Before the pandemic hit their huge remix of Samim’s dance classic Heater had blown up in the summer of 2019.
No stranger to collaborations over the years, new track Pineapple Tacos saw them join forces with EDM behemoth Like Mike for a retro flavoured, lockdown hymn.
We caught up with the duo this week and asked them to talk us through a playlist featuring the new track and a selection of music from Chris Lake, Josh Butler, Armand van Helden and more.
Tube & Berger featuring Like Mike – Pineapple Tacos
“The ultimate lockdown hymn. We‘ll get through this!”
Chris Lake & Armand Van Helden – The Answer
“Lovely video! Dance is the answer.”
Alegant, Tube & Berger – Get Down
“Our best and darkest video so far. Beware of tears in your eyes while watching.”
Golfos – Jenny Is Dancing (Salsa Mix)
“This tune is so fresh and quirky and will make you want to dance like in the good old clubbing days!”
Tube & Berger feat Goatchy – All I Want
“A melodic techno love song we wrote in the first days of the first lockdown. To the ones we love!”
Ashiba & Juliet Sikora – Pain in my Brain
“These two strong women know how to smash a dance floor and make super groovy tech house tunes.”
Chris Luno – The Ride
“A newcomer who takes us on a wonderful journey into sound.”
Raumakustik, Tube & Berger – Raumtube
“Latin vibes with our brothers from Raumakustik. So sad this one can’t be played for big (or even small crowds) these days.”
Josh Butler – Keep It Hot
“We love Josh Butler and his grooves. And the tunes on Solid Grooves are way more than solid. Let’s dance!”
Keir – Rose
“Recently found Keir. Incredibly talented. Check this out!”
