AT The Night Bazaar, our mission has always been simple: create with passion, share what we love, collaborate with the best, and support the underground. But behind the music, the mixes, and the interviews lies a story of dedication and the endless effort it takes to keep the scene thriving.
For over a decade, Mark Gwinnett has juggled a demanding career at The Sun with his passion project, The Night Bazaar. This journey hasn’t been without challenges—most recently, Mark faced a serious health scare that forced him to step back and reassess the pressures of maintaining both worlds. “The most important lesson I’ve learned is that work is not worth risking your health over, even if you are chasing your dreams,” says Mark. Yet, it’s that very passion that keeps The Night Bazaar alive – continuing to promote the music we love, often without the financial recognition it deserves.
This year marks the 15th anniversary of Cubism, the label founded by Mark Gwinnett and Saytek. The 5X3 Collection and FI5X3EN album, both now available on Bandcamp, serve as both a tribute to the past and a statement of intent for the future. Featuring tracks from artists like Tony Thomas, JP Chronic, Subk0de, Boston George, and Lunacy Sound Division, these releases capture the spirit of underground music at its best. “The underground community has always been essential in driving the music forward,” Mark explains. “It’s never been about commercial success—it’s about supporting and elevating the voices that deserve to be heard.”
The FI5X3EN album further showcases contributions from a range of talented artists, including Tom Finn, AndThen, Focus Puller, Sinful Biz, and remixers like Aza.B, Nathan Coles, David Coker, Terry Francis, The Sultans of Sick, and DJ Sensible. Each of these artists has brought something unique to the project, demonstrating the collaborative spirit that’s central to everything we do at The Night Bazaar.
As The Night Bazaar continues to grow, we’re proud to introduce our new merchandise shop, featuring limited-edition products that highlight our work and celebrate the artists we support, including talents like Brothers Ruin, Barber, Sam Ball, and many others. I’m also contributing to this project under my DJ alias, FakeNews, and it’s been a privilege to be part of this journey alongside such incredible artists. By purchasing our merch or supporting our releases, you’re helping us keep the underground spirit alive and ensuring we can keep sharing the music that drives us all. With the backing of EKKO Fusion Media, we’ve been able to develop new revenue streams, allowing us to continue pushing boundaries while staying true to our underground roots.
At the end of the day, everything we do at The Night Bazaar is rooted in these four words: Create, Share, Collaborate, Support. It’s not just a mantra—it’s what drives us to keep going. Whether it’s by grabbing some new merch, supporting our Bandcamp releases, or simply following along with our journey, every bit of support helps us stay true to our mission and keep the underground thriving.
