FOR the first edition of The Night Bazaar Sessions in 2021, we are pleased to welcome Latin America’s Slurm with a mix that perfectly captures the Ecuador-born artist’s sound.
Joshua Gutiérrez aka Slurm, started his career at Lost Beach Club in Guayaquil as part of the team and as a resident for 7 years, warming the dance floor for countless DJs like Jamie Jones, Tale Of Us, Steve Bug, Layo & Bushwacka!, Damian Lazarus, Patrick Topping, Mr C., Oxia, Audiojack, Tiefschwarz, Francesca Lombardo, DJ Tennis, Wolf + Lamb, among others. All this while he was doing sporadic events in the city and organizing his festival annual festival, Nature Beats.
Slurm starts 2021 with the release of his new album Rebirth on his own Savia Park label. He told us:
“This album was something I’ve been working on since the beginning of this year and ended in quarantine, it expressed a lot of the kind of music I like, trying not to follow the mainstream music, I feel there is still a place for real music. Origami Musique did the vocals from ‘Levitate’, lyrics that I wrote, a singer from Ecuador too, she is just starting her DJ and producer singer career, this is her first track released, she used to only be a singer but she found herself great in the decks. Life is beautiful, don’t waste time trying to understand it, living it is a full understanding of it.”
