IT’S been a decade since Lee Burridge held the first All Day I Dream party on a boiling Brooklyn rooftop.
Since then the parties and record label have become a sensation all over the world.
For two decades before All Day I Dream was founded in 2011, Lee Burridge had already played a pivotal role in the development of global electronic music, as a regular at fabric in London during the clubs formative years and as part of Tyrant alongside fabric resident Craig Richards and for a while, Sasha.
While the Covid crisis has silenced the All Day I Dream parties for now, the label continues to delight and inspire with impeccable releases from the likes of Lost Desert, Sébastien Léger, Tim Green among others. The ten year celebrations will happen as soon as it is safe to do so with parties already scheduled to take place this summer in Spain, Netherlands and Canada.
As we all dream of better days, music continues to be a positive force for many. Lee told us:
“Music has always been a wonderful form of escapism. In these stressful times allowing space in your day for a moment of bliss or a moment to rock out is more important than ever. Music is your mood or maybe the one you want to experience.”
In celebration of ten years of All Day I Dream, we invited Lee to compile and talk us through a playlist featuring essential tunes from the label. Listen to the tracks and read what he had to say about each one below.
Double Touch featuring Reigan – Greatest Day (Lost Desert Remix)
“Because we all need a ‘greatest day’ now, don’t we. Plus Reigan’s vocals are just sublime. These kind of tracks come along now and again and reach out beyond the dance floors to people who didn’t even know they’d like electronic music.”
Sébastien Léger – Ashes In The Wind
“Music can have the ability to take you away. This one’s a trip around the universe and back. Sebastien Leger put his heart into this track and created beauty with sounds that remind me of Super Mario. How is that even possible!”
Lee Burridge & Lost Desert featuring Junior – Lingala
“The universal languages of love and music meld together to tell an age old story of that very love between two people in a far away land. Junior Akwerty joins myself and Lost Desert and creates heartbreak house.”
Roy Rosenfeld – Lift Of Love
“There’s something beautiful about house music. Magical Blackpool ballroom vibes in outer space is the only way to describe this unique piece of house music.”
Matthew Dekay & Lee Burridge – Für die Liebe
“One of the tracks that started the whole All Day I Dream musical movement. Classical meets electronic. Matthew Dekay is a master when it comes to production and Fur Die Liebe (for the love) says it all.”
Double Touch – All I Want featuring Reigan
“It’s not all made on a computer. Ambient, classical, beautiful. Double touch and Reigan in lock down delivered this somewhat beat-less cover version that get’s me all misty.”
Slow Hearts – Eyepads (Tim Green Remix)
“Turn it up and close your eyes. From Burning Man festival in the desert to parties on far away beaches this Tim Green remix takes the original to new levels of gorgeous. Oh, and if you happen to have some decent speakers the bass in bumping.”
