We caught up with Russell this week and he talked us through a playlist of his favourite earworms including music from the album. Listen to his selection below and read what he had to say about each track he chose for us.

Russell Small, DNO P featuring Lulu – Shine Forever

Starting to make waves for Dino and I with a fantastic vocal from legend that is Lulu. It was a real pleasure to work with her on this – she’s a star.

PAWSA – Too Cool To Be Careless

Fantastic Cover of Dennis Edwards and Siedah Garrett’s Don’t Look Any Further.

Jaegerossa – The Big Red

Lush disco house track that gives me that readybrek glow.

Oden & Fatzo featuring Poppy Baskcomb – Tell Me What You Want

One of my tunes of the summer, catchy vocal over a cool disco sample taken from Alexander O’Neal and Cherrelle’s Saturday Love.

Russell Small, DNO P featuring Amanda Wilson – To Be Real

Our next single from our Earworm Album, a cover of the Cheryl Lynn Classic with a top vocal performance from Amanda Wilson

Next Phase featuring Helen Bruner & Terry Jones – I Ain’t Got Time (Richard Earnshaw Remix)

Originally released in 1996 on Sub Urban records and produced by Tommy Musto, it now gets a beautiful soulful house update from Richard Earnshaw.

Eddie Craig and Amy Pearson – Spell

Great update of the Disco Tex 2001 Chaka Kahn sampling I Can Cast A Spell. The released version of said track had the Chaka vocals replaced brilliantly by Shena, this version sees a stellar job from Amy Pearson.

Alanis Morrissette – Uninvited (Freemasons Remix)

James and I went full circle with this track, originally releasing as a bootleg before recording the vocals with the amazing Bailey Tzuke, to then get asked to remix the track for Alanis herself for her Supposed Former Infatuation Junkie (Thank U Edition) Album.

LF System – Lift You Up

Released Earlier this year, an uplifting 90’s influenced summer groove with a powerful vocal from Clem Douglas. The LF boys best track since Afraid To Feel in my opinion..

N.Y’s Finest – Do You Feel Me (Odyssey Inc. Remix)

This has been out for quite a while now, but it remains firmly in my playlists. A monster 90’s classic from Victor Simonelli given the remix treatment from the Odyssey Inc. Boys
