HE may have come out of the blue last year with a string of hits that saw him propelled into the limelight and nominated for two Brit Awards, but this is just the beginning for Jonas Blue.
His debut single ‘Fast Car’ featuring the vocal talents of Dakota sold over 6 million singles worldwide and went Platinum in the UK as well as hitting the number 1 spot in 21 countries.
Proving he is far from a one hit wonder, this success was followed with ‘Perfect Strangers’ featuring JP Cooper which peaked at number 2 in the UK singles chart and then most recently with the smash hit ‘By Your Side’ featuring Raye.
He has now achieved over a billion streams and sold a staggering 10 million singles globally in the last 12 months, more than any other debut British artist.
It’s safe to say 2016 was a pretty good year for the 27 year old Londoner.
We decided it was time to catch up with Jonas, real name Guy James Robin to find out more about his meteoric rise, starting 2017 nominated for two Brit Awards and his plans for this year in our exclusive video interview which we filmed in the studio where he recorded ‘Fast Car’.
Hinting at collaborations with Ellie Goulding, Katy Perry and Craig David, Jonas also exclusively told us about his new band which he will be taking to the main stage at V Festival this summer, plus his recent debut headline DJ set at London’s Ministry Of Sound and news of his next single which is due for release at the end of this month.
