CARL COX will be bringing his epic UK tour to a close this weekend.
Starting the weekend in the garden of England, this Friday will see Carl team up behind the decks with his friend Nic Fanciulli playing back to back for the Maidstone masses before heading north for what will be unforgettable shows in Manchester and Glasgow.
Having kept the world entertained from his studio in Melbourne during the pandemic with his Cabin Fever Sessions, Carl hit the ground running post lockdown with his UK tour this summer and also with his electrifying memoir Oh yes, oh yes! which hit the book stands last month.
We caught up with the busy DJ and asked him to talk us through the top ten tracks that are rocking his label Awesome Soundwave at the moment, the label he runs with his friend Christopher Coe. Listen and read what he had to say about the music below.

The minute I first heard their music I knew we had to have them join the label! they have a great new EP coming up with remixes from Jose Marquez and TEYMORI and soon we will release their album. “My man Christopher who runs the label with me and is such a talented artist in his own right. This track was the first thing we released on the label, ahead of his amazing album MNTNS of SLNC. And it’s deep rumbling techno vibe really captured what he was about. The album set the benchmark for where we go from there. When he came to me with this album and the story of how he climbed the mountains in Ireland and wrote techno inspired by that landscape and was creating a whole new live show around it, I was captivated by the whole concept. It was because of this I decided that we should start this label. This album was the beginning.”

“Mat is a truly talented genius, when he’s not growing chillies he is making great works of musical awesomeness! His album “Solar” was the 2nd album on the label and one that is just choc-full of melodies and grooves that really are timeless too. We love Mat’s work and can’t wait to hear his latest stuff. I think he’s been busy harvesting his chillies of late though, so we have to wait a bit. I’m sure it will be worth it!”
