THIS autumn sees Acid House culture celebrated in the theatre with a totally unique, ground-breaking show, Acid House Cabaret, which will feature the author of the award-winning, best selling book Rave New World: Confessions Of A Raving Reporter, Kirk Field, and a different nightly guest or ‘Agent Of Unity’ who helped shape the scene joining him on stage.

Expect a mixture of Acid House anecdotes, socio-cultural commentary, laced with humour, musical mischief, big screen shenanigans and an exhibition of the rarest flyers in the foyer from the leading flyer artists from the era.

Check out Brandon Block’s Acid House Cabaret Playlist below…

This week we caught up with Brandon Block who talks us through ten Balearic influenced house music tracks from the golden era of Acid House which you can listen to below and read what he had to say about them.

Joe Smooth – Promised land

A timeless anthem of unity.

Ce Ce Rogers – Someday

Perhaps the most optimistic lyric in dance music?

Sterling Void – It’s Alright featuring Paris Brightledge

Soothing and soulful house from the master.

Sterling Void – Runaway Girl (Radio Mix)

Driving and authoritive slice of Chicago house.

Tony Terry – Forget the Girl

Tyree Cooper – Acid Over

Piano meets Roland 303 and they get on famously !

Todd Terry – Dreams of Santa Anna

A ubiquitous piano anthem from the orbital parties.

Fast Eddie – Acid Thunder

Top hip house from the late 80s.

Future – Acid Trap

Mac Thornhill – Who’s gonna ease the pressure (Big Mac Mix)

Sublime groover which ages well.

Inner City – Big Fun

Infectious anthem from Kevin Saunderson and co.

Paul Rutherford – Get Real

An often forgotten Balearic favourite.
