MARITIME Yacht Club is the creative brainchild of renowned UK tastemaker, DJ, producer and Origins Rcrds label boss Josh Butler alongside long-time friend and fellow producer Jose Rosa.

The talented singer/songwriter also co-wrote and provided the vocals for Josh’s hit record Got A Feeling.

The duo unveiled their second Maritime Yacht Club release, Change, last week.

With a 12-track debut LP in the pipeline for later this year, it’s set to be a really exciting summer for the Maritime Yacht Club guys.

We caught up with Josh this week asked him to share ten favourite tracks he’s dropping in his DJ sets – which includes some of the new music he’s made with Jose.

Listen to the music and rad what Josh had to say about it below.

Maritime Yacht Club – On My Own

The debut single from the forthcoming album of my side project with Jose Rosa. Jose was the voice of my 2013 hit record, Got a Feeling, and now we’ve teamed up again to write a load of new original music!

Brett Gould Ft Penny F – Black Light

I’ve been a fan of Brett Gould for ages! This particular track was a demo that he sent to me in 2022, so we released it on Origins Rcrds around Christmas time. Stunning vocals from Penny F, and this does serious damage on the dancefloors!

Polymod – No other

Polymod, probably better known as Shadow Child or Dave Spoon, never misses! One of the best producers to ever do it, in my opinion. This one is about four years old now but recently been back in my box and is a good one to end my sets with.

Josh Butler – Hideout

Hideout is the B1 side from my recent EP, Illusions of House. It’s deep, progressive and has something I find really nostalgic about the vibe. Big support from Joris Voorn on this one!

Maritime Yacht Club – Change

Change is the second single from us as MYC. It’s deep and cinematic, but at the same time, it builds to something that is very danceable! We’re really proud of the sound design in this one; the lush synth melodies complement the piano and strings.

Many of us have gone through changes over the past few years after world events. Jose especially has some massive changes with the passing of his wife in 2020, so this song sums up a big part of what this project is about for me – Emotionally-led electronic music that is genuinely written from the heart.

Mark Knight & Todd Terry – Make You Happy

Sticking with the House theme, these two need no introduction! Big collaboration between two heavyweight DJs/Producers. Everything Todd touches is gold!

Revival, Phebe Edwards, GeO Gospel Choir – Think (Club version)

Another big House record that was released recently. Phebe Edwards has such a powerful voice it really makes it sounds like an instant classic! This gets me in the mood for summer!

Jovonn & DJ Deep – Back in the Dark

Something a little more underground here but keeping within the classic House sound. Jazzy, soulful chords and super cool spoken word vocal about the roots of House music.

Basement Jaxx – Jus 1 Kiss (AudioJack Remix)

When this one landed in my inbox, I was so excited. I always loved the Basement Jaxx original, and I’m a fan of everything Audiojack do. Winning combo, and they have really done this song justice with the remix.

Mat.Joe Ft Mizbee – Sun Goddess (Original mix)

Ending with something deeper. Mizbee wrote these lyrics about her late mum, so this song has so much meaning behind it. It really resonated with me, so I actually did a mix of this myself too. However, the Mat.Joe original is a beautifully uplifting track that I think sounds timeless!
