PATRICE BÄUMEL is one of the most exciting DJ / producers on the global techno scene and has an unmistakable and unique signature sound.

He’s released music on some of the most vital labels from Balance to Afterlife to Global Underground and has played every major club and festival in the world. He runs his own HALO label and traverses the electronic spectrum from deep to melodic and back again.

We caught up with Patrice ahead of Wellnergy Festival which was held at Barn Elms in London on June 17. We caught up with him ahead of the festival he put together a playlist of his current favourite tracks including some of his own recent productions. Listen to the music Patrice selected for us and read what he had to say about the tracks below.

WhoMadeWho – Never Alone (Patrice Bäumel Remix)

WhoMadeWho are an exciting and hugely popular band from Copenhagen with a sound that sits comfortably between Electronic and Indie music. This remix is pure positive vibes and finds its way into most of my sets.

Amháin & EMPHI – Hadron (Subandrio Remix)

This progressive gem delivers wave after wave of emotion, all with a subtle sophistication that is so difficult to find nowadays.

M.A.N.D.Y. vs Booka Shade – Body Language (Patrice Bäumel Remix)

Body Language is a track from 2005 that wrote dance music history. My remix is a modern and pretty muscular reinterpretation. A peaktime weapon.

Joachim Spieth – Texture 40.1 (Claudio PRC Reconstruction)

One of my favourite records of the moment and a deep, meditative masterpiece. A good dj set needs more than banger after banger.

Africa – Aleph

Eight minutes of gentle euphoria. Good music takes you places and ‘Aleph’ is a mind trip.

C.A.R. & Patrice Bäumel – Four Down (Club Mix)

With London’s very own C.A.R. on vocal duties, this is a record that connects me to this fascinating city.

Yagya – Annar Stormu

With Stormur, Iceland’s Yagya has delivered what I consider one of the best techno albums of recent years. This is my favourite track on the album but I recommend listening to the whole thing.

Nico Morano – Flammes (Patrice Bäumel Deep Mix)

This remix has kind of gone under the radar but to me it’s one of my favourite things that have ever come out of my studio. Gentle yet potent.

Deepbass & Ness – Les Planes

Psychedelic Techno at its best. A track that slowly burrows itself deep into the crevices of your brain. Black magic.

Primal Code – Origins

High IQ & EQ dance music. The perfect companion for the journey inwards.
