CENTRAL Park in Brighton is the place to come and dance with friends this month for Live Music and the Euro’s taking over Valley Gardens, offering a range of free and ticketed events.

Glitterbox lands for its Brighton debut on Saturday June 15 and presents a world-class DJ lineup including Derrick Carter, Alan Dixon, Sophie Lloyd and The Shapeshifters for an uplifting all day session of house and disco in the sunshine.

We caught up with The Shapeshifters this week and asked Simon Marlin to talk us through a selection of Glitterbox inspired music which you can listen to below.

The Shapeshifters featuring Liisi LaFontaine – Beautiful Day – Glitterbox Recordings

Of course I’m gonna start off with this! A “moment” record for me and a record I wanted to catch the spirit of Defected Croatia & Ibiza…. And it’s out today!

Austin Ato – Bobby – Pantai People

Pure Edit goodness from Austin and guaranteed dance floor reaction.

Groove P – Alright – Pleased as Punch

The follow up to his incredible and heavily played ‘Are They Real.’ Groove P is one to watch, driving baselines and peak club moments.

Riva Starr – Love You Til Tomorrow – Glitterbox Recordings

Riva is one of my favourite producers.  An awesome blend of disco and funk with a heavy bottom end.

Blaze – Breathe (Natasha Diggs Remix) – Slip n Slide

Natasha turns it out on this blaze classic. Originally on west London slip n slide imprint this is a funk/soul masterclass.

Trinidad Deep – Moments of Sound – En Souled

One for those summer days by the pool or beach, it’s like being wrapped up in tribal cotton wool!

Dunmore Brothers feat Lolitta Leopard – DJ Spinnin – Snatch

Rising stars Dunmore Bros showing they are going places and fast becoming leaders in their genre at an early age.

Moodena – Moodenas Message – Tropical Disco

This is a staple in my sets over the years and always delivers the funk.

Kousto – It’s Up To You – Pleased as Punch

French-born, London based producer and a regular opener for Folamour he hits heavy with this debut on PAP.

ANOTR & Erik Bandt feat Leven Keli – How You feel – No Art

Love this original production. I have a lot of time for these guys pushing things forward by delivering fresh takes on funk and disco.
